Mamadou Diabate on White Sun II

Grammy-winnning Malian kora player Mamadou Diabaté in the studio with White Sun. Madadou comes from a sacred musical lineage that can be traced back 70 generations. The Diabate family ancestors invented the kora hundreds of years ago and Mamadou now makes the instrument himself, crafted from a calabash gourd. The delicacy and subtlety of his kora playing is just other-worldly, and he brings that magic to so many of the tracks on White Sun II.
